Arts Administration Internship

Good Details is seeking motivated individuals for our Fall 2016 Arts Administration Internships. The Arts Administration Intern will work directly with the Gallery Owners to gain an understanding of the day to day operations of an arts incubator and organization. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Greeting visitors from the gallery floor, answering questions about art on display, artists, and the organization
  • Working behind the  process sales of goods and other administrative tasks
  • Maintaining appearance of the gallery displays, office and kitchen
  • Updating e-mailing list with new contacts
  • Assisting in processing art entries for juried exhibitions
  • Assisting with installations/ de-installation of Gallery exhibitions
  • Unpacking work for exhibitions, repack work, and assist with shipping
  • Attending opening receptions, and special events as scheduled (refreshment preparation, bartending, clean-up, etc.)
  • Assisting with marketing and social media efforts

Skills & Qualifications:

  • Excellent customer service skills; approachable and enthusiastic
  • Ability to grasp and interest in learning details of current shows such that customers are well cared for (Knowledge of the arts is a plus.)
  • Demonstrated reliability and able to commit to allocated days
  • Willingness to do whatever is needed from working on spreadsheets to pouring champagne and taking photos at events
  • Motivated self-starter with excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Google Docs, social media
  • Knowledge of art techniques/ history preferred
  • Outstanding reputation for integrity

The Arts Administrative Intern must be available to work two days per week; two weekday from 12 to 6pm (day TBD with some flexibility),  or one weekend day from 12 to 6pm, and occasional evenings (Second Friday). The start date of this internship is ASAP.

This is a part-time internship eligible for college credit.

Graphic Design Internship

Good Details, LLC is seeking motivated individuals for our Fall 2016 Graphic Design Internships. The Graphic Design Intern will work directly with the Gallery Owner, and focuses mainly on marketing materials for the gallery. The inter will be responsible for numerous projects related to Good Details, including but not limited to:

  • Responsible for numerous projects related to the Good Details’s marketing and public relations
  • Updating of Good Details’s website and other related sites.
  • Assisting with installations/ de-installation of gallery exhibitions
  • Helping with some day to day needs of the gallery
  • Helping the Arts Admin Intern to unpack and re-pack work for exhibitions and assist with shipping
  • Attending opening receptions, and special events as scheduled  

Skills & Qualifications:

  • Proficiency with Photoshop or similar design software; Adobe Illustrator and InDesign a plus
  • Ability to create graphics and design content in alignment with Good Details’s mission; stylistically create a cohesive campaign design that strengthens the gallery’s online presence
  • Able to take constructive criticism and incorporate new direction
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication is essential, including the ability to design for different audiences (blogs, online listings, email communications)
  • Familiarity with social media platforms and etiquette (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, Tumblr)
  • Ability to work independently as well as with a team
  • Excellent organizational skills, able to meet project deadlines
  • Good eye for detail and creative sensibility
  • Flexibility with scheduling including some weekend and evening hours
  • Proficiency with Google Drive
  • A passion for Art a plus
  • Photographers especially welcome

The Graphic Design Intern must be available to work two days per week excluding Mondays and Tuesdays; from 12 to 6pm and evenings for special events/programs as necessary. The start date of this internship is ASAP.

This is a part-time, internship eligible for college credit.

Marketing And Social Media Internship

Good Details, LLC  is seeking a motivated individual to be our Fall 2016 Arts Marketing Intern. The Arts Marketing Intern will work directly with the Gallery Owners, and focuses mainly on publicity for gallery presence in the community. The Arts Marketing Intern will be responsible for numerous projects related to Good Details public relations, including but not limited to:

  • Assisting with marketing and public relation campaigns, event management, direct mail marketing, online calendar postings and community outreach.
  • Regularly maintaining all social media platforms (Facebook & Instagram) 
  • Assist with regular maintenance of the website along with the Graphic Design Intern
  • Compiling calendars and contact lists, drafting email announcements, and calendar listings.
  • Assisting with installations/ de-installation of gallery exhibitions
  • Assisting with unpacking and repacking work for exhibition and shipping.
  • Attending opening receptions, and special events as scheduled

Skills & Qualifications:

  • Outstanding written and verbal communication is essential, including the ability to write for different audiences (blogs, online listings, email communications)
  • Familiarity with social media platforms and etiquette (Facebook, YouTube, Instagram,Twitter)
  • Ability to work independently
